wat grade r u in ? just exchange x and 100, so now the problem becomes, x = 2/100 which is 0.02.
here's an easy way to interpret this problem.
2 divided by some number x is equals to 100. may b u r stumped at this point but u could think in your head, 'hey, if i may b try to divide 2 by 100 just as an experiment, i will get some number x' and then to double check, try dividing 2 by that number x and see if it equals 100. simple ?
in algebraic equations like this, the goal is to get an unknown number on one side of the equation and get all the numbers on the other side. And there are rules u have to follow when u r doing that. And what rules should u follow, I am sure ur Junior High teacher can explain.

Ok:
100 = 2/x You must isolate the x, get it by itself, on one side of the equation. Being the denominator on the bottom, you must multiply it by itself which cancels the x on the right hand side. But what you do to one side you must do to the other.
So: 100 = 2x ----> 100x = 2x/x is the same as 100x = 2
Now, to get x by itself, you must get rid of the 100 and to do this you must divide whcih cancels the 100's on the left side. But again, what you do to one side you must do to the other..
So: 100x = 2 ----> 100x/100 = 2/100 is the same as x = 2/100
And 2/100 = 0.02 therefore x = 0.02!
And to check it subsitute for x: 100 = 2/x ---> 2/0.02 = 100!!
Hope this helps! Good luck!

100 = 2/x
Since you want to have x on the top, you can multiply it through.
100x = 2. Then, solve for x by dividing by 100:
x = 2/100 = .02

The easiest way is to first multiply each side by x, leaving you with:
100x = 2.
Then divide each side by 100, so x = 2/100, or .02.

100 = 2/x
Multiply both sides by x.
100x = 2
Divide both sides by 100.
x = 2/100
That can also be written as 1/50 or 0.02.
