Of course pi = 4 / (1-1/3+1/5-1/7+1/9-...)

and there are other infinite series that converge to pi.

But is this the fastest converging series?

Which series, defined using only integers and converging to pi is the fastest?

If I wanted to approximate pi using the first N terms of some series, what series would always get me the closest approximation for any given N? (is this known and is it proven?)

thanks.

when consumers apply for credit, their credit is rated using FICO (Fair, Issac, and company) scores. Credit ratings are given below for a sample of applicants for car loans. Use sample data to construct a 99% confidence interval for the standard deviation of FICO scores for all applicants for credit.

I got this question asking for the flux of a curl F = (-2x^2)yi + 4xy^2j + z^2k, and is contained by the shell 2 - (x^2 + y^2) = z
above the xy plane.

I went through it but my answer came out weird. Any suggestions?

How does one get y^2 - 2y = x^3 + 2x^2 + 2x + 3 to turn into: y = 1+- sqrt(x^3 + 2x^2 + 2x +4) ? Thanks for the help.

A woman at a point A on the shore of the circular lake wants to arrive at the point C on the lake diametrically opposite A. She first rows a boat from A to B at a rate of 4 mph and then jogs from B to C at a rate of 8 mph.
The eqn for the time she takes to get from A to C assuming the lake is d miles in diameter is (d/8) (2cos theta + theta) hrs

Questn: If the lake is 4 miles in diameter, what is the least time she can take in getting from A to C via B.
what does it mean by "via B", so why cant it be 1

Let .5(a+1/a) = -( 2+x) , .5(b+1/b) = -2. I need to to express the following in terms of 'x'. " .5[ (a+b)/(1+ab) + (1+ab)/(a+b) ] "

you are a super genius if you get this.

2) If a firm invests amount Po( the o is a zero) at an interest rate of r%, then a year later invests amount P1 at the same rate, then the total amount at the end of two years is given bby the formula A=Po (1 + r)^2 + P1 (1 +r). A firm invests $4000, then a year later invests an additional $2200. At the end of two years, it has a total of $6720. What is the interest rate?
