4x - (2x - 5) = 2(x + 10) - x
5x - (2x - 5) = 2(x + 10) (add x to both sides)
5x - (2x - 5) = 2x + 20 (multiply out the 2)
-(2x - 5) = -3x + 20 (subtract 3x from both sides)
-2x + 5 = -3x + 20 (multiply out the negative 1)
x + 5 = 20 (add 3x to both sides)
x = 15 (subtract 5 from both sides)

Left side: 4x - (2x - 5) becomes 4x - 2x + 5 which is 2x + 5.
Right side: 2(x + 10) -x becomes 2x + 20 - x which is x + 20.
So equation is now:
2x + 5 = x + 20
subtract 20 from each side
2x + 5 - 20 = x
2x - 15 = x
subtract x from each side: x - 15 = 0
x = 15

ok so we're going to solve for x right? 4x-(2x-5)=2(x+10)-x
first we distribute the -1 to (2x-5):
4x-2x+5=2(x+10)-x
next we distribute the 2 to (x+10):
4x-2x+5=2x+20-x
simplify 4x-2x and 2x-x: 2x+5=x+20
subtract x and 5 and then we get: x=15
check:
4(15)-[2(15)-5]=2[(15)+10]-15
60-(30-5)=2(25)-15
60-25=50-15
35=35 so the solution x=15 does check.
