How can the transfer of force through saturated soil be measured? My teacher gave me an project where I have to measure the transfer of force through pure saturated soil and then in saturated soil with 4 different additives (gravel, bark, dried leaves, and Styrofoam popcorn). I have to determine the difference and which additive decreases the transfer of force the most. I don't know where to start! I don't know how to measure force. Do I measure it in pounds because she said to us a spring scale; doesn't does scales weigh pounds? I'm so confused. Please help me! Thank you so much!

I have put in a new water sprinkler system in my yard. The total yards of the system is approximately 100 and I ran 3/4 inch thin walled pvc pipe for the trunk line and 1/2 inch pvc thin walled for the feeder. I have 39 nozzles which discharge 2.3 gallons per minute or 89 gallons total. My line connects to the main water supply line at both ends. My question are 1) how much volume and pressure do I need to make the water system opperate properly and 2) can I do it with what I have installed or 3) do I need to add a holding tank and pump? Thanks

In Florida, when you esign a new house, renovate it or make an adition, you are supposed to make the electric load calculations per table 20-30 of the NEC 2002. I bought the NEC 2005, an did not see this table. I am not even sure if I should go by the NEC 2002 or the NEC 2005. Any ideas?
