What happens inside the microwave to make it work? Does it shake the particles or what?

I intend to control an underwater ROV via fiber optic cable. Is there a device that exists that can accept a single PWM input, convert it to speed control instructions, and output those as PWM to speed controls?

Also, I need a way to convert either instructions on a laptop or a joystick setup to PWM.

I'm trying to control an underwater ROV using a conventional radio setup, with the tiny hitch that one obviously cannot transmit radiowaves through water. I was thinking of converting the transmitter output to PWM, piping it down a fiber optic cable to a pulse reciever at the ROV end, reconverting it to FM, and then running it to the reciever.

Now for my problem: how do I convert FM to PWm and back again, in such a way that a conventional radio system won't foul up?

I have made a wind generator out of cheap, everyday materials.
Is it possible to make solar panels for generating electricity from everyday materials, perhaps something like a thermocouple with two different metals?

Wouldn't this give out limitless power? I know it is really hard to make antimatter, but if there were a way to annihilate it with matter causing energy to be dispersed, is there anyway to use this energy as a fuel source? I can't wait until the future

One quick point - this isn't a stupid question, I know that the main function of a water cooler is to provide cold water. However the water cooler where I work also provides boiling hot water for tea, etc. The hot water comes out of the machine as the same speed as the ice cold water; yet it's actually boiling (with visible steam coming off it). How does the mechanism inside the machine work, to provide this function so quickly and efficiently? I can't find anything useful related to this on Wikipedia - so any genuine answers would be very much appreciated; thanks in advance '_'

Hello All,

I run a Design Company, and as part of my expension, I am mortgaging to build an "Eco-Friendly" office. I have grants from the DTI and assistance from several groups to build a "green" building at a smaller cost than a traditional "bricks and mortar" construction.

We are looking at using Solar panels on the roof to reduce our electric and heating costs, and potentially tying it in with a small windfarm. My question is, does anyone know (on a conceptual basis) what equipment is needed to allow these two energy devices to work in harmony with mains supply?

Your thoughts & advice are appreciated
