How do crane operators assemble tower cranes that reach the skylines of cities?

first the inside control is put into place...then the first section of the outside is built...then, they use side jacks to lift the inside up to the next level, and so on til they reach their height goal..

they build it on the actual building i think or next to it and it rises while the building becomes taller
