With nuclear weapons, man can surely leave the Earth void of life.

However, can man actually totally destroy the planet?

Could the nuclear blasts take the planet off course, leaving it a barren rock?

I know animals adapt to their environment, ie the birds in the Galapagos island whos bills are changing shape to suit the food they eat. There are other examples of adaptation like this but no proof as far as I know with evolution, ie an animal changing into another species. Correct me if I am wrong! Also provide proof.

The idea of humans evolving into humans as we know today within the short period of 4 billion years is a hard pill to swallow. Especially when supposidly it would take a single cell organism 150 million years to evolve into a multi cell organism. Then only 26 times longer to reach human stage. That is assuming single cell organisms were here when the earth was made 4 billion years ago. It just doesn't make sense. Where did we come from is the answer everybody wants to know?

Why is seperating salt from salt water difficult? What theories are out there for new ways to do it? What about evaporation, but then how will we take the gaseous H2O back to liquid state?

Okay so I'm doing my homework and this seemed to confuse me. So I live in Arizona, it's super hot and no rain. And it said in my homework, "The higher a location's temperature, the more easily water evaporates at that location." and that makes sense, but so does that mean the slower the evaporation, the more precipitation? I'm confused...

living in the concerete jungle of the town, who do not wish it ever to rain , could actually effect the weather so that it does not rain? Even on the weather forecast on the Telly rain is described as being bad weather, and sunny weather is described as being better or good weather!
No one ever seems to think about what is good for the countryside, springs and rivers!
Yes, I realise that this doesn`t explain all the recent heavy rainfalls in England,...and other countries also,...But perhaps our desire to keep rain away only causes it to build up to the point that it simply has to have the whole lot fall at once.
I know it sounds rather childish, but there may be some truth in it!
