Are you thinking of the "Sea of Tranquility?"

The 'seas" on the moon (Latin: Mare) are actually flat areas where in the distant past there have been volcanic lava flows. There is no water on the moon to form any sea as we know it. These areas were called 'seas' early in the science of astronomy, because they were dark, and looked 'sea like'. Possibly the most famous mare on the moon is Mare Tranquillatum (Sea of Tranquility), where Apollo 11 landed in 1969, and Neil Armstrong made 'one small step for a man; one giant leap for mankind"..
