For the information of those of you who have not bothered to look at the news relating to countries other than your own - [ USA?] - WE, in Britain, have had a very wet summer, resulting in extensive flooding.

As l understand it the weather patterns have already changed for the UK. lf it continues the the melting ice caps will put a lot of cold, fresh water into the Atlantic, pushing the Gulf Stream further south - thus global warming will result in Britain being colder!

personally, l'm bemused by all the hype - the Earth has always done this. Just because the human race is now inconvenienced, everyone is running around like headless chickens. As far as the Earth's concerned it's doing it's own thing oblivious to our very existence - this would happen whether we were here driving 4 x 4 's or not. A good volcanic eruption would have far greater effect on the climate than anything we could do. There were hippo's in the Thames once before. All the fuel saving etc won't make any difference to climate change, as the climate is driven by completely different forces.

Imagine has a cute bellybutton, but she's not very bright. Global Warming is climate change, not changes in the weather.

Take a minute to read up on the difference between climate and weather.

And, Mr. Bus Driver, please tell us where you live. Most of the world has had one of the hottest, driest summers on record. I live in a small town in Piedmont NC, and we have had record highs like 109 degrees, or ten degrees warmer than ever before. We would love to have some of your cold, wet summer here!

So look at the world around you, both of you. If you think Global Warming is a scam, you are gullible and you have been listening to the wrong people. The multi-billion dollar lies have come from the people who say it's a scam, and not from the people who say it's real. Time to grow up.

I feel that global warming is real and happening. Just because gradually the world's overall temperature is increasing due to human carelessness, doesn't mean all areas will be instantly affected. Severe climate changes in different areas are imminent; some places are going to be extremely hot and others cold and rainy, as you said. People who say this is all a scam are wrong. I am sorry; I don't want to create any controversy, but humans' mass production of trillions of products have created immense pollution and wasted a lot of energy. Our carelessness to regarding the environment has resulted in climate change, deaths of animals, and the world is getting in worse health every minute. Do you see animals polluting our earth? Do you see them mass producing cars and facial cleansers? No. Animals are simple creatures, with motives like "Get food" and "Find safe place to sleep." Their necessities are much simpler than ours. We need so much to survive in modern life that we have affected the earth greatly.

The yearly variation in temperature is much greater than the average rise in temperature of global warming. Imagine flipping a coin that has been weighted to land heads 55% of the time. You can still easily get 3 tails in a row. It is elementary statistics.

Yes, it's true the UK has had a particularly wet summer. But still warmer than normal. And mainland Europe has experienced widespread, record-breaking heat and drought.

As the planet gets warmer, the polar ice caps melt, and therefore results in more moisture in the atmosphere. Which means a lot of rain. Get used to it, it's only going to get worse.

I don't know where you live but our summer has been hotter and dryer than normal. Temperatures have been in the three digit range for more days in a row than ever. It is very wearing.

I think everyone's figured out the whole "global warming" thing is a scam driven by billions and billions in funding.

It's a shame. We could've used that money for a good cause.
