The tectonic plates are moving at the rate of about 50 to 100 mm per year. In that case the top layer on tectonic plate that is crest also should move at that rate. Can we find the latitude and longitude of any particular city will change after 1000 of years. What will happen to the other end of tectonic plate boundary?

We know the geomagnetic poles reverse, and we know we're due for another reversal pretty soon (within 1,000 years) so do you think this inner geomagnetic upheaval 'agitates' the core, making it hotter and thereby causing it to expand? Is there any other valid geological reason that could make the core hotter?

Also, what is your explanation for why geomagnetic reversals occur? Would you say it's in response to an inner influence within the core (if so what/why), or otherwise an external one such as our approaching proximity to the galactic centre and its possible influence, and/or our current position in the spiral arm of our galaxy? I'm interested in properly thought-out theories please; preferably from actual geologists. Thanks.

I know that we are taught that coal is fossiles of plants etc. that died billions and billions of years ago. No they also say that oil is the remains of dinosures etc. How then can it be explained that crude oil , in the gulf of mexico is miles and miles and miles BELOW the ocean floor. How did the surface, get so far below ground.

Coal comes from trees and plants etc that were buried thousands of years ago, so instead of chipping or burning used christmas trees etc why don't we bury them for coal for the future, also is it not possible that in thousands of years time, all the crap that we have put into landfills may turn into a fuel?
