I found a piece of what looks to be partially formed or somewhat degraded sandstone and it looked as if it could be created without millions of years of pressure. : )

it has no definite grain or pattern,
it is extremely porous if it is indeed a rock,
it is composed of sand grains,
it is easy to turn it back into normal sand by hitting it with another rock of the same sort,
I am reluctant to say it's sandstone because of how brittle it is,
it has a slightly harder coating of dark sand on its exterior which looks burnt in a way,
I don't know what is cementing the sand grains together,
and the way the grains are cemented together reminds me more of a dried sandcastle than hard sandstone,
however this stone is cemented together, it is still significantly harder than a dried sandcastle

I know, how to save it (or try to), I know what Antarctica is etc.... but I just need to answer this question: What is so important about it that we need to save it and not let it be destroyed by us humans?

Note: I am not against saving the environment etc I just can't find the words to answer the question!!

some animals are cute. Some are gross. Why? Someone ones suggested that it was so we wouldn't eat the gross one's and we rely on the cute one's. Thats not consistent since we eat lambs (cute) and lobster (not cute)
