The rocks you'd encounter would become hotter and hotter, begin to fuse together, and you'd get nowhere. Even if you could get past that point, you'd create a volcano in the process as you dug deeper into the core of the Earth.

IF you personally did the digging, eventually the project would overwhelm you. Either the hole you dug would collapse in on you, or when you got down near the bottom of the crust, you would cook, literally, in a setting where the temperature was the same as in an oven. Human bodies are not designed to handle heat much over 125 degrees F for any length of time without special protective gear.

you would die. its many miles before you even get through the crust of the earth. and the mantle is so hot that you, whatever you were digging with and whatever was unfortunate enough to fall down the hole would burn up or melt.
