why is there a quicksand? and all those people and things that gets trapped and sinked in where did it all go? did they ever re-surface in a thousand years or they just stayed under? and did a quicksand hardens or will it really stay that way? what causes it? and how can you determine if a ground/sand/mud is a quicksand?

I know that almost every child has, but has anyone ever tried to dig to the center of the Earth on a large scale? If so, how far down did they get? If not, why do you think no one has done that?

I'm curious to find out how scientists know that the center of the Earth is a solid core surrounded by molten lava if no one has dug that deep.

I know that's more like four questions, but I want to be as specific as possible.

Seeing how all cars, jets, machines, and houses are using billions of gallons of oil a day, for how much longer is the world's supply of oil going to last?? Since its a natural resource and can not be replenished, we have to start using an alternate fuel source real fast! And with all this Technology that our govt. has, why cant we get off oil and readily push the use of Hydrogen cell fueled cars or invent some other alternative??
