stop overdevelopment. there are plenty of places to live and plenty of areas to redevelop rather than draining wetlands and building homes.

oh...and have fewer kids. Over-population is the ultimate factor in every environmental problem.

Focus on redevelopment of currently developed land rather than continuuing the trends of land conversion.

This would need to be done with national guidelines and rules/regulations since states and local goverments have been very inept (and often have a strong desire to develope land in order to increase tax revenue)
