I was wondering if most of you global warming advocates know that snow and ice are not regular features of the Earth, but rather have only been around since the beggining of the last Ice Age. What we're seeing now is the slow shift to when the Earth is in its "normal" state, when there is no glacial cover.

I'm just wondering whether people knew that O_o. I see nothing wrong with the climate change, why try to control something humans cannot?

I found it very easy to find information about adaptation of alpine populations (I mean at least 2000m+ above sea level) and I found a ton of information about mountain sickness for climbers who go at those heights.
But I want to know, what happens if a mountain native that resides around 3000m or so, suddenly goes down for a vacation at sea level. What happens with them? What does the increase of pressure cause them? does it bother them at -all-?

Is it possible to stand near lava and not get hurt? Not touching it or anything, just standing next to a lava flow. Would the air be hot enough to hurt you? Or any other factor I'm forgetting.

Remember, for the sake of the question, you never touch the lava.

In the movie Superman Returns, Lex Luthor steals a chunk of Kryptonite from a museum with a list of substances that it's made of. Scientists have recently discovered a mineral in Serbia with the same chemical composition. They called Jadarite. See the story here:

I saw the recent "Planet Earth" series on The Discovery Channel. A couple divers in a subterranean cave in Mexico swam up from the saltier water up to the fresh water and it was startling how distinctly clear that boundary (halocline) was as a dividing barrier. Since these divers and that halocline was filmed in a subterranean cave full of water and quite impossible to get to without modern technology (or without coming alive to tell about it), I would like to know when this discovery first took place and by whom.

I am so sick of hearing about global warming. People telling me my daughter will nevr grow up becasue of it. God is not going to let it happen. People have said the earth is getting hotter for over 4,000 years and still no effects/ So people need to relize global warming is really an outdated theory.
