Global Warming?

I am so sick of hearing about global warming. People telling me my daughter will nevr grow up becasue of it. God is not going to let it happen. People have said the earth is getting hotter for over 4,000 years and still no effects/ So people need to relize global warming is really an outdated theory.

look. if u r a Christian, then u have nothing 2 worry about. i am a homeschooled Christian teenager and i know 4 a fact that global warming isn't happening. if i had like 3 pages 2 type, i would explain why. u should e-mail Dr. Jay Wile. he is a Christian professor, i think. he wrote my bio book and he is awesome! he is very anti-global warming. below, is his e-mail. u should e-mail hime 4 more advice.

At times it may be hyped or over-emphasized but the threats posed by Global Warming is indeed real. They coined that "term" because of data they have gathered for years now (that the Earth is on an abnormal temperature shift to a warmer one). Though some would argue that these findings are not conclusive, it does not erase the fact that humans and the machines he invented contribute in fueling up the temperature of the Earth. Maybe we'll live to see old age and find more explanations to this phenomenon. And will ponder again on this point ^_^

Assuming the god you are talking about is the same one described in the religious texts of the the Judeo-Christian and Islamic mythos, just how many major distasters has he not only failed to prevent, but allegedly caused?

How is your statement about climate change any more valid than a similar one would have been about global terrorism or unresolvable wars a decade ago?

Climate change is measurable, the global average temperature is currently trending higher. Ice is melting at the poles and in high elevations at a faster rate than it has been in recorded history. Even you seem to accept the claim that the Earth has been getting warmer for 4000 years as if that somehow proves the climate isn't changing now. You might want to note that if the Earth has been getting warmer for 4000 years, then any gods that might exist seem to be letting it happen.

The main thing I see that is outdate in this is your world view.

Global warming isn't only the faults of human life, but it is still very real. It may not be THAT bad now, but the temperatures have gone up in the past few years and continue to be rising. Not too long ago (up to about '97) people used to be able to walk around in the streets bare footed IN THE SUMMER. Now, only someone living way up north or the crazy in the south (U.S.) could stand the heat of the summer pavements. And, water levels are rising as result of melting ice caps due to increasing temperatures. Sea levels had in fact been rising at a rate of about 1 to 2 mm per year during the past century and that this trend does not appear to be slowing. It may not seem like a lot but it should be enough for people to start doing something about it, don't you think?

Well Im not to sure of the 4,000 yrs. & some of the other stuff you mentioned but I do think Al Gore is full of crap! He is not a scientist, he is a politican. Maybe he cares about the environment maybe he doesnt? Dont know? But I have a bachelors in Enviro Science. What I studied & learned says the earth is constantly going through changes, Temperatures, ecosystems, continents, etc....
I love the environment. I hug trees, lol:) I think we should all try to live self sustanable lives but not outta fear of "global warming" or any other "scare tactic" It is a lifestyle & people should have the choice & the freedom to live it or not. I do believe tempertures are rising in certain areas but I believe that is just a normal flucation (sp?) And based on my studies & research I think it has a lot to do w/the sun, not greenhouse gases.
Also weather people have a hard time telling us what the weather will be this weekend, so how is it they can predict the weather 50 yrs. from now?

I don't know if it's been 4,000 years that people have said that but at the same time energy usage has become more excessive over the years.

Well I have only heard of it in the last few years.If it has been happening for the last 4000 why have I not heard of it before.I do know when I am hot or cold and I can say with firm belief it is getting a lot warmer in the summer time and also in the winter when it should be cold.

You don't want to hear about it because it will change the way you have to live or change the way your daughter will have to live. You are afraid , even if you won't admit it. You want to believe all you are told by your favorite TV pundit, because it's comfortable, but you know you can't really believe them. They are the mouthpieces of the corporations that want to keep up the status quo. Admit it . Turn away from the "Dark Side" .
