I have some information on reversals:

Reversals may take a few thousand years to occur. The cause of reversals relies on the theory of relativity. Electrons on the surface of the earth have no relative velocity to us on the earth surface as it rotates. The normal field is due to electrons, and as they move outward, the normal field will decrease; and if they move inward, then the normal field will increase because of relativity. Thus, the reversal of Earth’s magnetic field is controlled by the inward or outward motion of the spherical shell of electrons.

But I don't know what these electrons are? Are they the electrons on the surface of the earth? Would anyone be able to help me? Thanxxx!
