Mammoth Cave is the largest cave system in the US. So far they have mapped more than 365 miles of caverns, and they are still discovering new ones.

Carlsbad is one of the oldest cave systems but not even close to being as large as Mammoth, with only a measly 30 miles of caverns.

I have heard arguments for both Mammoth Caverns and Carlsbad Caverns (by the way, Mateo, Carlsbad Caverns is in New Mexico, not Arizona). I would have to go with C-bad because they are still finding passages in it, and because it was formed due to strong sulfuric acid (from the Rio Grande Rift), not weak carbonic acid. I would have to conclude that the jury is still out on this question.
