There is no mystery. It was all started by a guy named Berlitz who wrote a book claiming that the triangle was a strange area that had aliens living under its ocean. His claims were exaggerated but he made a fortune from his books. His claims have been discredited and insurance companies charge no more for ships and aircraft operating in that region.

That myth was researched and debunked a long time ago. I'm surprised that anyone still remembers it. The original book was a huge fraud.
