Barium sulfate, BaSO4 , is used in medical imaging of the gastro-intestinal tract because it is opaque to x-rays. A barium sulfate solution is ingested by patients, whose stomach and intestines can then be visualized via x-ray imaging.

The Ksp of BaSO4 is 1.1 * 10^-10

Our body temperature never exceeds 40 degrees celsius. yet they say that it is the vapor that causes the nausea and blindness. I dont see how methanol can go from liquid to vapor. PLEASE HELP ME

Im having trouble finding stereogenic centers in large molecules, does anyone have any tips or any good websites that might help?

I'm also having trouble determining if large molecules are Emantiomers, I can see what it looks like in my mind as a mirror image but I have no idea if it is superposable or not. Anyone have any tips or good websites with maybe some practice problems on it and answers?

Thanks!

Na (s) + H_2O (l) yields ? My main thing is I can't figure out if sodium reacts with water to produce sodium hydroxide, and if it does do that I am having trouble balancing it. If it doesn't react does that mean that there is no reaction b/c i know since sodium is a solid it won't break up into its ions unless it reacts with an ion in aqueoues solution in the activity series. So any help will be greatly appreciated b/c as you can see i'm not so sure.

I have been meaning to ask if anyone knows if distilled water is the best for us to drink. Basically, the purest. I read somewhere ( can't recall now ) that distilled water is the one we should be drinking. I am going to date myself here and say that I remember my mother only using distilled water in the iron, as she said it had something to do with keeping them from rusting. I buy distilled water to drink & some of my friends tell me that I am crazy to be drinking it.
