1) Chlorine is made commercially form electrolisis of molten common salt (sodium chloride) according to the following chemical reaction:

2 NaCl + 2 H2O → Cl2 + H2 + 2 NaOH

2) Litmus paper will turn red, becasue chlorine will dissociates in the little amount of water that litmus paper has yielding HCl (hydrocloric acid that is the auqueos form of the Hydrogen chloride)

3) It produces Hydrogen chloride (HCl).

C2 + H2 -------> 2HCl

Hope it helps!
