I have been meaning to ask if anyone knows if distilled water is the best for us to drink. Basically, the purest. I read somewhere ( can't recall now ) that distilled water is the one we should be drinking. I am going to date myself here and say that I remember my mother only using distilled water in the iron, as she said it had something to do with keeping them from rusting. I buy distilled water to drink & some of my friends tell me that I am crazy to be drinking it.

There isn't any harm in drinking distilled water, actually some believe it's the purest type. The argument is that there aren't any minerals in distilled water and therefore of no benefit to our health.

I personally prefer the taste of spring water over distilled and buy the kind without flouride.

EDIT:
Dr. TORNA - We get minerals from our FOOD so don't get yourself in a panic.
Cherries, cauliflower, broccoli, radishes, carrots, kale, fortified cereals...and more.

I think that the distillation process may remove some of the minerals that naturally occur in water. I'm not sure if that is a big deal as far as your health is concerned. Distilled water certainly has most organic compounds removed from it also.

With any purification process, you have to ask, "what is the residual contaminant, after purification?", since no purification process is perfect. Generally, distilled water is distilled for some "industrial" purpose---to reduce its conductivity, to prevent mineral deposits (as your mother's iron). Distillation is not intended to produce drinking water, although distilled water as sold in the supermarket is almost certainly safe to drink. Distilled water tends to taste "flat", since almost all the minerals have been removed.

Bottled water that is meant to be drunk, and is low-sodium, is just as good for your health as distilled water, and may taste better.

Look, distilled water is a water which clear from metals, minerals and all soluble things (such as impurities)
But that not a correct thing to drink a distilled water, why?!
Because your body need minerals, which considered as co-enzymes...etc, where will your body get them?
Don't say vitamines and supplements
Because they are extreme dangerous for your liver and kideny
>Drinking Clean water,that's ok
But drinking distilled water that's not OK
