i started talking to my friends about car oil and they said it doesn't burn. I asked why, they said "cus your car would explode if it did."
I said "understandable, but whats in it that makes it not flamable like fuel oil?"
they said "it's thicker"
I said "is it a completely different substance? or is it just differently refined?"
they said "it's completely different."

so now I want to know, what is engine oil made of and how is it different from lamp oil or gas?

I'm doing some lab work at a research lab. I'm a newcomer to this place, but I was wondering if there was some sort of gas (instead of a local anesthetic) to sleep an animal. I've been searching for it, but I was unlucky, being "Knockout gas" and KOLOKOL-1 (apparently lethal) as my only results. Can someone tell me how much of what ingredients use to make this gas?

This is a chemistry question. Purified water does not conduct electicity at least not a lot. When you get in a bath full of water and use a microwave it shocks you and kills you. Now what would happen if you used purified water and washed yourself of any metals and things that conduct electricity and get yourself in the purified water and used the microwave. Would you still die? Their is nothing that conducts electricity very well so i dont think you would die. I dont know so this is why im asking the question. Good Luck ; )

This is the only problem I missed on my chemsitry exam and I have no idea how to work it, can anyone explain it to me simply?

Calculate the concentration of the solution formed when 102 ml of 9.9 M HCl is diluted with 525 ml of water.
The correct answer to this problem is 1.61. I have asked this before, but all of the answers given so far have been wrong. I know the answer, however, I need to know how to do this problem step by step so I can do these for future exams. Thank you!
