Four genes are segregating. How many phenotypes are possible among the progeny of a cross between double heterozygotes, if two of the traits are partially dominant (or co-dominat) and two are complete dominants (assume no environmental effect)?

a. 13
b. 4
c. 42
d. 36
e. 8

The answer should be d, 36.

I know what partial dominance is but what is its significance in the problem? How should it be solved? Thank you for your help!

If genetic engineering made it possible, would it be wise to give everyone who lives in malarious areas the HbS allele?

It sounds like a good idea but wouldn't this prove to be a bad idea when it comes to natural selection favoring resistant populations due to the overuse of antibiotics? This would cause a large, detrimental shift in directional selection right?

okay i dont mean to offend anybody or try to be funny or anything but if adam and eve were the first people created and gave birth to the first babies then dosent that mean were all in the same family and also doesn't that mean that were all doing incest. We are all making out and having sex with a member of our family. now keep in mind the bible never said anything about others non related created (I think)and you cant put words in the bible that aren't there. Can somebody shed some light on this? And also with the whole Adam and eve thing were did the dinosaurs come along and cavemen. We have evidence of dinosaurs but not of Adam and eve except the bible. Does the bible mention dinosaurs??? Is the bible a big lie? Now keep in mind i believe in god 120%

If the Theory of Evolution is true, why haven’t we seen a species start changing into a completely different species (not just a change within species, like a different breed of dog)? And shouldn’t humans be evolving into something more? I could sure use another pair of hands!

I am confused about the facts about the recessive and dominant genes in red hair. I have had people tell me that red hair is a recessive trait, and both sides have to carry it for it to show up. I have also had people tell me that it skips a generation. I just want to know the facts so that when my child is born and it doesn't have the same dark red hair as my husband people, his mother mostly, who is convinced it's going to be a red haired child, can be set straight about the about the whole thing. Thanks.
