u inherite 23 pairs of chromosomes or 46 chromosomes from your parents...diploid....the genes are tightly packed chromosomes..they can be very long or short...dependin on what the genes do or control......some code for proteins and stuff while some are for expression such as eye colour and stuff.....traits which i guess you are tokin about can result from a single gene or be an combined effect of several genes..now wad was ur question again
