I was looking for books to learn about evolution. And I am a big Dawkins fan. Mostly for atheism i'm just now starting to think evolution is valid. But Jonathan Wells’s book seems to say other wise. And I am thinking about getting it as a companion to my study of evolution. But I also realize he is a creationist. Is he just destroying evolution to somehow make his own theory seem better? Or is he actually speaking without a byist for his theism.

I asked the above questions today in Pathology. I thought it was a common observance. My Path teach said he had never seen a difference. I was shocked. I thought it was a general truth.

Hypothetical question: Scientists discover a preserved cache of amber from a tree-like plant that lived for over 300 million years and pumped out sap. It has trapped blood sucking & scavaging insects from every epoch of evolution. These insects bear dna from most every animal that has existed over the ages. The dna is identified as to each species it came from and techniques to reproduce this life exist. What species do you choose to have cloned and bring back into this world? Miniature wooly mammoths would be my choice for a pet. Kids would love them like the Flintstones. Your choice?

hey, im somewhat puzzled about this thing.....

i) how do we justify the existence of 6 variants of HLA 1 n 12 of HLA 2?
ii) and does an individual has all the 3 alleles of HLA 1 (A,B n C)? if so, d individual-individual variation is only due to the type of allele which predominates and the mutations in them?
iii) also, how does the HLA profile decides the susceptibility or the reistance to a particular microbial disease or pathogen ( say, HIV)?

I recently came across Francis Collins book, __The_Language_of_God, where he lays out an outstanding case for Theistic Evolution. This coupled with similar views from one of my all time favorite authors, C. S. Lewis, has left me on the fence for this issue. I've started on Richard Dawkins _The God_Delusion_ and am also reading Lee Strobels _The Case_for a_ Creator. Leave some suggested readings with your answers. Thanks!
