Also, the membrane itself will destabilize at high temperatures, creating holes that make diffusion, etc., impossible.

As temerature increases, so does the rate of diffusion, dialysis and osmosis through a permeable membrane. Matter "loosens up" the warmer it gets. Thus, fluid passes more easily through the membrane.
