I know that the nerves cross and everything, but WHY did it happen that way evolutionarily? Is there a reason?

If you think about it, the human body has two of the most important Organs and Lims. For example 2 eyes, 2 legs, 2 Lungs... the list is endless.
Its a kind of safety device, one gets broke, you have a back up.
With the heart being one of the most important organs in the body why do we only have one.
Surely two smaller hearts would be must more effective??
or is this a thing of the future, maybe one day we will....

Seems to me that Biological Science describes Evolution of biological organized systems with laws and mechanisms differents from the way that Cosmology or Astronomy describes the Evolution of others physical systems, like particles, atoms, astronomic systems. Do you know which are the differences? Do you believe that the Evolution of living beings is different from the Evolution of the so called "non-livings"? Do you believe that the Universal History is shared in two blocks, one different from the other?!

This phenomenon is called "baby-shopping" and i read somewhere, that after unravelling the human genome sequence, this might happen in the future. But the thing is, everyone would want to have perfect babies! So we all our progeny be gorgeous looking and in perfect health?

as an example; tiger is the species - then you have sub-species such as the bengal tiger and the siberian tiger. different sub-species of tiger vary in size and colour depending on where they live. so when we talk about race in humans do we actually mean sub-species? because we vary in size and colour depending on where we live. im just wondering if sub-species would be a more appropriate term than race.
thanks
