What about other evil germs? How long do they survive on an unwashed hand? Or do they live forever?

People, I wasn't suggesting that I wasn't going to wash my hands. I just wanted to know how long they lived if I didn't.

First of all you need to keep your hands clean even if you got e coli on them or not you still have to be clean. Because you come in to contact with them everyday. And your hands should not be dirty eating with. Also once your hands have dried and are not wet anymore then you should be okay but i think you should wash them anyway. If you are in a situation when niether is possible then you would need to used eating utensils. And if that is not possible you need to carry around a pocket sized germ x. But it will leave an unpleasent taste in your mouth if you eat something wet.

Experiments have shown that faecal coliforms are nearly everywhere in the house in small amounts (airborne water droplets from the toilet distribute them), and other things like money, supermarket trolley handles, railings and doorknobs usually harbour nasty microbes. Don't worry about e coli, just wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating and after using the toilet.

I'd guess until they got through your skin, which I can't really remember if they can or not, but that wouldn't be safe overall.

Why wouldn't you wash your hands?

Well, if you're doing other things that might feed 'em, basically you'd be unsafe forever.

Just wash your hands please. Is that so much to ask?
