What kind of Cockroach is black in color, clicks it's body to attack an object, has (what look like) eye patches over it's head, fangs and injects some sort of brown venom or secretion?

I found one in my garage today, it was very hard, would click at a pair of pliers I clamped it with and had fangs. When I put it on a paper towel, it would dig into the towel with it's fangs and a brown venom-like secretion would be left behind.... What was this? My Fiancee's afriad to go in the garage now.
