I think that you may be referring to lagging strand as opposed to leading strand?
When DNA is replicated, the two strands separate, much like a zipper, along part of their length. Unlike a zipper, the strands are oriented in opposite directions, called anti-parallel.
The new strand to be synthesized can only be synthesized in one direction. This means that one strand can be built continuously. The other strand will be built in small discontinuous segments which must then be connected. This strand is known as the lagging strand.

DNA lagging occurs during DNA replication because one strand is synthesized from the 3'->5' direction, where DNA replication only happens from the 5'->3' direction. Lagging strand DNA elongation continues via discontinuous synthesis of short fragments of DNA, Okazaki fragments. Initiated by RNA primers the fragments are made longer by DNA polymerase and DNA ligase joins the fragments together to form one long strand.

during the replication of DNA,
the replication of strand2 from 3' - 5' end doesnot takes place continuously but discontinuously in the form of fragments called okazaki fragments, these fragments later on join to form a complete replicated structure called lagging strand of DNA.
while the strand formed in 5' - 3' direction is formed continuously so called leading strand.
you must have understood now....

Mendel discovered DNA to begin with: that was in 1857, long after the bible was written. If God were to say "DNA" to a bunch of people who didn't understand what it meant, would it mean anything to them? No. Also, there are no "right" words, just words that we understand - God speaks in our language.
