Tea tree oil does come from tea tree leaves, but it is most definitely not the same as drinking tea. Tea tree oil taken internally is poisonous! I don't know how to make it, but I've put down a link about tea tree oil.

no. leaves of the tea tree are not the same as the drinking tea plant.

the oil is extracted by steaming the fresh leaves and collecting the condensed steam/oil.
