we all know that all those small stars we see in the night sky are far far away.........so how long would it take a rocket ship to fly "past" a star? would it take minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years? how long?

Astronomers have spotted and weighed a tiny galaxy located 6 billion light-years away, or nearly halfway across the universe.

Dubbed SDSSJ0737+3216, the just discovered galaxy is 100 times lighter than our own Milky Way and is the smallest galaxy ever identified at that distance. It is about half the size and approximately one-tenth the "weight" of typical small galaxies found closer to Earth.

Just imagine the sun would stop shining, without exploding. It would just totally disappear without causing harm. How long would human race survive without the benefits of the sun? 10 minutes? 10 hours? 10 days? Could it stand the cold longer? How long would it take for the atmosphere to get below zero degrees?

I love looking at the stars at night it is so beatuiful. I have seen jupiter and its 4 moons through my brothers telescope over 20 years ago and I know how to find the big dipper what are good ways for a beginner in astronomy to develop a passion for looking and discovering the stars? Is there any special film to take pictures of the moon and the stars?

i was on wikipedia looking at my zodiac sign which is a sagittarius and it says im compatible with a scorpio but on the scorpio page it says opposite compatible. so what does opposite compatible mean?

why is mars hotter than the earth even though it is farther from the sun than earth. It makes no sense becuase shouldnt earth be hotter since its closer to the sun? just wondering kinda botherin me that i dont know this. thank you
