what is 'space'? Isn't it the absence of matter and energy? (which are ultimately the same thing according to Einstein)

What is *physical* existence? to have mass or matter?

Doesn't space by its own definition 'not exist'? space *is* nothingness, isnt it? It doesn't 'exist', but nothingness exists which defies intuition and logic.

You can see space, which is strange considering it doesn't exist, doesn't it?

Earlier today, I brought up the subject of the advancement of science & technology as well as the beginning of the universe. The person I was talking to got upset and said that our future should be determined by God and not by science or technology. They also said that if I truly believed in God, I would only believe what the bible says. But science makes lots of sense in terms of validity, replication, experimentation, etc. Why can’t I believe in both science and God?

The future of the Hubble Space Telescope is uncertain. While it is still operating, repair missions to keep it running are dependent on shuttle flights. Do you think the cost and risk of servicing HST is worth the benefits to the astronomical community?
