I like to think of things such as gravitatinal forces on earth but those dont make me wonder as much as infinity...

I wonder how can there possibly be infinty and have something go on forever and ever... But at the same time how would it be possible to have nothing in a place. It always makes me think and i can never think of a logically reason.

The other thing i think of is how can there be something here... I know that for religious reasons god made us etc. etc. But then how was god made... and if god didnt exsist how would planets and galaxys and all the other stuff exsist. It's just so fasanating and confusing.

ummm...I've heard that there is a meteor getting ready to hit earth and I was wondering if that is really true and if we are going to die.

I mean the basic stuff. Some of the questions suggest that people do not realise that the Earth turns on its axis, rather than all those stars and the sun whizzing round us every day.

Am I alone in wondering why people do not know things like what causes the phases of the moon, or that the sun is a star and the stars are suns? Some asked where do the stars go during the day, for heaven's sake. That's not even knowledge - haven't these people seen the stars fade at twilight. jeez, what are these people doing with themselves?

I am attracted to this site more for the really really infantile questions rather than all the good ones.

I think its similar to why I watch the auditions for American Idol rather than the later rounds. I can't believe all those people who have no idea how bad they sound.

Would that prove the Big Bang theory to be true, and prove the concept of God to be false?

It is common for people to use 30 minute exposures in Astronomy. Like this pic here.......

Why did he use a 30 minute exposure, and how is that different from a regular snapshot?

I am studying the Moon, sun and Earth. Here are my questions:

1) Why does the moon's phases change?

2)How long would a day be if the Earth was not rotating on its axis?

Thanks!

this pisses me off. what is mars atmosphere like? how bout gravity would water flow of float? since mars is closer with no magnetic poles would the sun allow water due to heat. what other proof are these pictures of rounded rock due to water erosion or could the be from years of wind? I'm not doubting water could have been or even still be there. But nobody has given real proof that it was there. I need more than just a picture of a outline does any body have answers to these questions
