Hi, I thought a star was simply a sun like ours that has orbiting planets and moons but I'm now not sure, am i right?

Then would not sending a mass of materials to outerspace to build the spacestation;no matter how slight;change or alterour path of orbit around the sun and over a period of time alter our seasons ? Our gvt. is messing up this planet !

If there was a planet exactly the same as earthd e.g density, size tilt etc. were all the same, and it was on the same orbit line as earth but just the opposite side of the sun, how would we know it was there?
