Aircrafts will be flying in the earth's atmoshphere which rotates along with the earth. Then flying along the direction of rotation of earth and the opposite direction should make some difference. Am I right?

Why do we need to fly 24 hours even against Earth's rotation from one side of the Earth to the other side when Earth itself takes only 12 hours to make half a rotation. Is the plane actually flying, or decelerating form its orginal rotation speed as the Earth or is it hovering? If you were to hover in a helicopter for 12 hours, and allow Earth to spin below you, will you thus reach your destination half the world away in 12 hours and faster than a plane?

they were talking about downgrading pluto to an asteroid bringing the planets in our solar system down to eight because if Pluto is a planet then so are several other chunks of rock in the sky taking us up to 12 or something: exactly what did they decide and how many planets do we have now?
