ntse tests our basics. one should thorough with baiscs of 1to 10th std classes. be perfect with fundamentals of physics which makes u to solve the problems in fraction of a sec. practice more and more to balance the chemical eqations and math problems of syllabus. then go ahead with objective type qustions.mark the areas whre u loose the marks and go on working on that. i think one must finish his syllbs in oct.after that go on solving more n more previous years papers and also model test papers.refer upkars or dineshs books. dont forget to study social sciece n biology in detail

There are Coaching classes for it in Chennai , so there might be similar classes elsewhere -- tho' you can appear without preparing specially for it , if you are a CBSE student , as the syllabus is the same as CBSE XI th -- I know somebody who did that , AND made it to the 2nd level ! There is a book published by McGraw-Hill for NTSE , which you'd find useful ,too .

there are two papers in ntse MAT and SAT
for mat solve mental ability books and for sat u should be aquianted with ur 9th and 10th class syllabus of maths,science and social studies.
