Why do people call meteor showers falling stars? Stars don't fall.... that is like saying that the sun went behind a cloud.... Is this saying rooted in mythology. Where did this saying come from??

I mean when will science end or even begin? Answers about pre-big bang are unsatisfactorily explained. And the idea of a big bang emerged from knowing the universe is expanding, and therefore 'Must' have started from a point before the expansion and speeding. What if the expansion and speeding rather started at a point in time when the basic bodies were already there?

I don't think the God of religion is there but surely the Superhuman of nature must be there somewhere even if he/she/it isn't like human.

Which will happen first, a permanent colony on moon, or man first getting to mars, and when will both happen.
I think the moon in 2020 and mars in 2026
but that is probably very optimistic

no one wants to beleive they existe but i cant figure why we would be the only life here in this huge galaxy. anyone see that movie (or read the book) hitchhikers guide to the galaxy? what if we are only here to gather as much information as we can for some other species? like with the mice in the movie, their quest qas to find the answer to the Ultimate question.. that makes ALOT of sence if one thinks about it. ok so maybe im just rambling and everyone thinks im crazy (my sister said so) but its a thought.

Consider that because our retinas detect the light that fall upon them allowing us to see, we might be blind. Also if we are exceeding the speed of light that does not mean the surrounding light is as well.

Because they are orbiting the earth at exactly the same rate as there spaceship. (orbiting means falling towards and moving away at the same rate). They appear to be weightless, but are not.

If the spaceship stopped they would fall to Earth pretty rapidly.

Why is the universe so large, and the stars and planets so far apart, that we can almost never expect to reach even the nearest star ? What's the point of it all, it must be there for a reason ?

Do we just asume they breathe air like us? We go into space and wear special suits so we can breathe and also have gravity boots so we dont fly away. We expect all alien planets have the same gravitational force as earth which I doubt would ever be true. The same sun light, heat, air etc etc etc............. lol just a thought!

Why is he always talking about moving into outerspace if the human race is to survive? I mean if we f___ this planet up so much that it becomes unlivable, what business do we have going elsewhere, we don't even deserve to survive.
