I heard that if during weightlessness in Space, if you were to suck a Wurther's Original, you would not be able to taste it... anyone know if this is true?

Just tried a wurther thingy here on planet earth.... if its anything like this one there aint no taste anyway, therefore sucking it in space would probably be the same.

You would not be able to taste the Wurther's Original because in space you can't take of your space suit.

Of course it's true, there are no corner shops in space to buy a Wurther's Original from.

There is no physiological reason why a person wouldn't be able to taste while in free fall. The only physical reason I can think of is that whatever you're eating isn't really sitting on your tongue and is then avoiding your taste buds. But if you were to suck on a hard candy, your tongue would be in direct contact with the candy and your taste buds would start screaming "Buttery deliciousness!!!"

If you want to try this out for yourself, find a theme park with a free fall drop (like a tower of terror or something) and take a small bit of a hard candy with you (I wouldn't recommend a whole candy as I don't want you to choke on it) and see if you can taste it. Remember, if you don't taste it the first time, it may have been because you were screaming; try again.

Don't know, ask NASA to send someone up there with a bag of Wurthers to try it out.

No it's not true. You would be able to taste a Werther's Original in outer space. Of course you would have to be wearing a space suit or be in a ship, or you'd be dead. If you were dead, you would not be able to taste anything.
