My stepfather was on his way to work this evening and spotted a strange object in the sky. He got out of his vehicle and said it was silent and had amber colored lights in a curved V shape. He was REALLY freaked out when he called my mother form his cell phone. It is not in his nature to get so anxious and call my mother the way he did. Thanks for your help.

Dr. James van Allen and Dr. Robert Park have made very convincing arguments about the wastefulness in terms of costs and uselessness interms of science being done of manned spaceflight. Manned spaceflight is at minimum 10 times more expensive than robotic missions, and the only place in the solar system than can be explored by humans is Mars. But there are already robotic missions in place and planned for Mars, including sample-return missions. A manned mission to Mars will simply be redundant.

earth at a particular time in the past. Or for that matter, how would someone find a date based on celestial observations made at an unknown time. For example, how would we find out in which years Passover arrived after sunset Wednesday or sunset Friday between A.D. 23 and A.D. 43? I'm not looking for a general answer, I'd like know how to rapidly obtain the necessary calculations/ information.
