Food contains both purine and pyramidine bases. But, from the books and teachers, we learned that the cell adops the denovo synthesis or salvage pathway.
But my question is:
Why are exogenous purines and pyramidines not incorporated into the cell's DNA/ RNA?

My postgraduate student posed this question. I went through couple of biochemistry and molecular biology books. And I also googled. I need an answer to satisfy student.

I found an article about making cows and sheep more environmentally friendly using roo stomachs, I'm wondering what the moral and ethical issues would be associated with such a thing, religious imput wouldn't be so bad either.

I'm wondering what other people views of this would be.

debate whether it's positive or negative if possible

As the title says. I thought the greater the p your experiment is more correct. For my experiment I used three classes of beans and got about 80-70% p in my results. I thought this was good because my expected was kinda close to my observed result, (about 6 away from expected). I read online though that its the opposite or something like that and that the farther away from .05, the less reliable it is. The closer it is to .05 then that means the more likely it occurred by chance and the farther from .05 the more likely it was biased and something affected the results??? Can someone please explain to me what exactly p stands for??? I am very confused...
