The terms overlap, but both refer to large saltwater bodies.

The oceans are Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, Antarctic, and Indian. The Atlantic and Pacific can be divided into the North and South of each. Oceans are the largest saltwater bodies.

There are numerous seas, so I will not try to name them. Gulfs are also large saltwater bodies. Gulfs and seas may be named for a land mass with is near. Gulf of Mexico and Sea of Japan are 2 examples. Seas usually connect to an ocean. The Caspian Sea is land locked.

If one sails the sea, that also means the ocean. In general terms one may speak of fishing in the ocean and really be talking about a sea that is part of an ocean.
