I am currently a sophomore in college, pursuing a career in biology. Ever since I was a child, I have wanted to be a doctor. I love everything about being a doctor. The anatomy of the human body and mind absolutely amazes me. I love my biology, health, and anatomy/physiology classes. And of course, helping people :]

Actually, I don't love EVERYTHING. I hate chemistry! I don't know why. There's just something about it that makes me dread going to class everyday. What really differentiates it from biology SO MUCH that I can love one and hate the other?

However, I KNOW that I want to be a doctor. I also realize that taking chem is something I will have to do if I really want to be one. I've spoken with docs, and they've said that they knew they wanted to be in medicine because they "loved the sciences". But what if you don't? Does that ultimately mean you cannot/should not be one? And, if so, how do I find a way to make myself love it?

Thanks for your answers!

While flipping through some calculus textbooks, I noticed that there are fancy long "S" symbols (or is it f?) I have never seen these symbols before!
What are they called and what do they mean? They're placed on the left side of numbers. It looks like a long swirly s.

In outer space two space modules are joined together by a massless cable. These probes are rotating about their center of mass, which is at the center of the wire, because the modules are identical (see the figure). In each probe, the cable is connected to a motor, so that the modules can pull each other together. The initial tangential speed of each module is v0 = 17.9 m/s. Then they pull together until the distance between them is reduced by a factor of 6. Determine the final tangential speed, which is vf for each module.

If the pressure is increased by 5% and the number of molecules is decreased by 10% what is the percentage change in the temperature? State whether it increases of decreases and five the percentage change to the nearest .1 percentage.
