I'm really into big cats, and watching so many animal planet shows make me want to do what they do. On their show "Growing up Tiger" is what inspires me the most. Maybe I'm not searching right, but I can't seem to find any colleges that offer a degree in Zoology. Suggestions? Also, with a degree in Zoology what are my career options?

I live in Eastern Florida, USA. I noticed tonight at 10:20 PM a star between Orion and the horizon in the east, keeps changing colors between blue, red, light green, white, and it does this quickly. Does anybody in the astronomy community perhaps know what's going on? Has this star finished burning it's hydrogen and is now burning it's helium? I just thought it was odd and at first I thought it was a helicopter, but since it hasn't moved for the last 20 minutes, I'm ruling that out, thanks for any help.

Using first and second derivatives, solve this question:

A truck is to be driven 300 miles on a freeway at a constant speed of X mph. Speed laws require X to be greater (or equal) to 30 and less than (or equal to) 60 MPH [so speed needs to be 30-60 mph].

Assume that the fuel cost 60 cents per gallon (yea I wish) and it is consumed at the rate of:

2 + (x^2)/600 gallons per hour. If the driver's wages are 8 dollars per hour and if he obeys all speed laws, find the most economical speed.

If you can please show your work when solving this, it will be much appreciated =] THE ANSWER IS 60 MPH, but I don't know how to get there.

Thanks =]

In a hot day’s race, a bicyclist consumes 8 liters of water over the span of four hours.
Let us assume that 80% of his energy goes into evaporating this water as sweat. (This is
not a bad approximation, because the mechanical efficiency of a bicycle rider is only
about 20%, with the rest of the energy consumed going into heat.) How much total
energy, in kcal, did the rider use during the race?

Sulfamic acid and sodium nitrtae should not be brought together as solids for safety reasons. Nevertheless, why is water added to the containers containing each of the two solds before mixing them together to form a reaction that results in N2 gas? Is it to better mix the two solutions? or to inhibit the amount of dangerous heat that can be produced when mixed together only as solids?
