Part 2: An application of a rational function is T = (AB)/(A+B), which gives the time, T, it takes for two workers to complete a particular task where A & B represent the time it would take for each individual worker to complete the identical task.

a) The monthly reports are due and the department manager has decided to try and accelerate the completion of the report by assigning a team of two workers the task. Mary has completed the monthly reports in an average of 6 hours over the past few months. John, who had worked in Mary's capacity prior to a change in assignments, used to complete the task in 8 hours. How quickly will Mary and John finish the report if they work together?

b) The very next month, both Mary and John are out sick. The manager knows that Skip can do the reports in 12 hours working alone, but the manager needs the work done in 4 hours. He needs to choose a staff member to work with Skip. How quickly would the other staff member have to complete the report working alone if the two hope to complete the report in 4 hours?

One inch of rain typically yields 10 inches of snow (Though this varies depending on the density of the flakes so less rain can produce more snow.)

This is not impossible.

Ok there is only 19 days left in the semester.I have an A in all my other classes.I have 2 test left and a project. The project can bring me up to a 65. However I still have to get a 70 to pass. My record of taking test in this class is sadly abysmal. I am truly worried as I will get kicked out of my Honor classes if I fail math. What can I do I tried tutors, I spoke with my teacher, yet I still fail. The test are truly difficult for me. Yet I understand the material. I am in 9 grade and honestly this is seriously stressing me. I was a good Algebra student but geometry just agitates me.

how many grams of magnesium metal will completely reasct with 50 g of phosporic acid?
Mg+H3PO4
M? 50g
24.31g/mol 98g/mol

n H3PO4= 50g * (1mol/98g) =0.5102mol
n MG= 0.5102mol *(1mol/1mol) = 0.5102mol
M MG= 0.5102 mol *(21.31g/1mol) = 12.43g

also if someone could help me understand molar ratios i would really appriciate it
thanks

A uniform solid sphere with a mass of M = 5.0 kg and radius R = 20 cm is rolling without
slipping on a horizontal surface at a constant speed of 5.0 m/s. It then encounters a ramp, and
proceeds to roll without slipping up the ramp. The goal of this problem is to determine the
maximum height reached by the sphere on the ramp before it turns around, and to use
conservation of energy to do so. Use g = 10 m/s2.

(a) Write out expressions for the remaining terms. Remember to account for both
translational kinetic energy and rotational kinetic energy, if appropriate. Keep everything in
terms of variables.

(b)How far does the sphere roll up the ramp (measuring the vertical distance)? First
find an expression for this distance in terms of variables, simplified as much as possible, and
then plug in the appropriate values.

(c) If a block slides without friction up the ramp, starting at the bottom with the same
initial speed as the sphere, which object travels farther up the ramp
