tronary your wrong, rain does turn into snow when there is enough precipitation, and the temperature is at or below freezing point. And when I say 1 inch of rain yields 10 inches of snow, I mean that 1 inch of rain will create 10 inches of snow.

i hate it when i hear rain talked about in inches. thats a length.
it should be talked about in terms of volume.
a length of water means nothing at all to me.

Rain is not snow and snow is not rain. If one inch of rain fell on ten inches of snow it would melt the snow.
