Ok there is only 19 days left in the semester.I have an A in all my other classes.I have 2 test left and a project. The project can bring me up to a 65. However I still have to get a 70 to pass. My record of taking test in this class is sadly abysmal. I am truly worried as I will get kicked out of my Honor classes if I fail math. What can I do I tried tutors, I spoke with my teacher, yet I still fail. The test are truly difficult for me. Yet I understand the material. I am in 9 grade and honestly this is seriously stressing me. I was a good Algebra student but geometry just agitates me.

I have ponderd on the thought of taking an alternative test and have basically, begged my teacher for a redo. However he has been very stubborn and wont let me.
I seriously know all the postulates, and theorems from the Chapter Test I was given, but for reasons that I cannot explain I made the score of a 38, which lowered my grade tremendously as you can Imagine.
How may I convince my teacher to let me retake this test, I honestly need this grade based on my current academic situation.

I'm honors math 9th grade to(93 average O YEA). Geometry i hate but if u go to your teachers extra helps and just study the formulas its pretty easy. O and home work is important so do it yes it is no fun but u do way better on tests when u do it all the time.

Sadly, that's how it is for most of us math folk: we are either really good at algebra and equation manipulation or we are very good at geometry and the proofs and spacials and all that. Some are blessed by being good at both.

As an educator, this is my suggestion:

You say that you understand the material that's been covered. What I would look for is to see if the teacher has some alternative form of test that you can take. Maybe the issue is the format of the test instead of the material on the test.

I caution you that not all teachers will bend to this idea, but it is worth a shot. If the rest of your classwork and other things show your understanding of the subject matter, I believe the teacher may be comfortable with you being assessed in an alternative matter.

Plan a good long study session like this:

1. Go back to page 1 of textbook. Read it. Don't go to Page 2 until you are sure you understand Page 1. Continue like that. At end of chapter, if there's a little test or study questions, do them. If you think they are insufficient, make up and write out your own little test. Save that for later.
2. When you get to the point in the textbook that you are at in class, take the little tests you made & saved for later.
3. Ask teacher for mock (practice) tests to take ahead of time.
4. Ask teacher (or have parents ask) if there is any way for you to take oral exam, because you understand the informaiton, but are having test-taking trouble.
5. Ask teacher for extra credit because of your test taking trouble.
6. If you study high, take test high.

If you are good in algebra, you can certainly score in geometry also. You just need to read it and try to understand. For geometry, you must really understand the theory, so study it first. Then try to do problems. You will get most, or even if you didn't ,its not a problem. By trying more you will get it. Ask doubts for which you didn't get. Try to understand why you failed in each problem and try to implement that idea on next problem. Geometry is not hard unless you think so, especially for a good algebra student. Its all I can say as a student. Best of luck.

Sit in a college level math class, HS math totally confused me and had me lost. After I attended college and listened to professors lectures, it all became clear. Public school teachers cant teach and you are beating yourself up over something that is not your fault.

By definition, hunours courses aren't for everybody.

If you flunk out, you'll just have to study at a different level, or study something else.
