I am currently attending college with a goal to either get my mechanical engineer's degree or aerospace engineering degree and work for NASA. This is a question for those who work at NASA or know someone who works there:

What kind of jobs do you do?

What did you do and go through to obtain that job?

Was it worth it?

And finally, Do you think you made the right choice?

Thanks for your time. I don't know anyone who works there to interview them so I figured this would be the next best thing.

I know they just tested the DNA of a T-Rex fossil and found his closest living relative was a chicken. But I thought that only creatures like the pteranadon would have become birds.

Why is there a volcano here? is it high grade methamorphic melting causing a partial melt or is it subduction related? On a similar note is there any uplifted sea sediment in the himalayas from the neotethys?

Atmospheric pressure on Venus is about 90 times that on Earth. A steel sphere with a bulk modulus of 165 GPa has a volume of 2.50 cm3 on Earth. If it were put in a pressure chamber and the pressure were increased to that of Venus (9.12 MPa), how would its volume change (cm3)?

hanging 2.00-kg block begins to accelerate a 4.74-kg block on a horizontal surface. But a rope connected to the wall at 31.5 degrees brings the block to an equilibrium position. The coefficient of friction between the surface and the 4.74-kg block is 0.130.

(a) What is the minimum tension (in Newtons) in the angled rope that maintains this equilibrium condition?

im supposed to divide the problem below, but i cant figure out how to solve it.

(3x – 2)(x - 4) – (x - 4)(6 – 5x) / (4 – x)(8x – 1)

=[3x^2 -14x+8 -(-5x^2+26x-24)]/[(4-x)(8x-1)]

= [8x^2-40x+32]/[(4-x)(8x-1)]

= 8x^2 -5x +4)/[(4-x)(8x-1)]

=(8x-1)(x-4)/[(4-x)(8x-1)]

= -1

this was my teachers response, but i cant figure out how to factor out the GCF.
Don't FOIL in the numerator. Factor out the GCF instead. What do you get?

Doesn't anyone think of what would happen if we start mining the moon, what it will do to Earth?
