I do NOT need answers, I need you to provide me with a better understanding of the process to get to the answers. If possible can you provide keywords in the question that lead to why you did what you did. Please do not skip steps or use calculator functions. All I will have available to me is a basic calculator and a table with Z Scores, please check for the rest of my questions:

A recent survey was conducted to compare the cost of solar energy to the cost of gas or electric energy. Results
of the survey revealed that the distribution of the amount of the monthly utility bill of a 3-bedroom house
using gas or electric energy had a mean of $126 and a standard deviation of $14. If nothing is known about the
shape of the distribution, what percentage of homes will have a monthly utility bill of less than $98?

The answer is at most 25% please explain as, best you can, the mental thinking and steps toward getting there.

well the question goes like this :Calculate the pH of an ammonia solution made by diluting 25.0 mL of 0.204 M NH3 to a total volume of 50.0 mL.
a.) 2.87 b.) 8.26 c.) 9.25 d.) 11.13 e.) 11.78

The way i approach this question is as follows i have the intial mole sand volume so M1V1=M2V2 ...
so 25*.204= 5.1
then 5.1/50= .102
then i take the molar mass of ammonia which is 17 and i divide the .102/17=.006
then i do -log (.006) =2.22
so then i do 14-2.22= 11.78 which is one of the answers if anybody can confirm or deny, any additional help is appreciated

The boiling point of water is 100 °C (212 °F) at standard pressure. I have always assumed that this is the hottest water can get before evaporating, but my buddy says that it is possible to get water hotter than that (in a microwave, for instance).

Is this true? If so, why?
